The Project
Our customer was making big steps to increase the energy efficiency of the house. Solar became the cherry on top to not only reduce consumption but produce his own power and heat. Last time we talked he was looking to buy an electric bike for his commute to work, which would take his car off the road and integrate low impact renewable energies: human muscle and solar electricity!
The Design
We decided the best way to fit his budget was by designing a 'two-stage' system. This way he could have a smaller system installed first with an option to expand any time in the future. We approached the solar thermal system in much the same way resulting in a system that could grow with this young family. When they're ready we can quickly add another collector to match their increased demand.
