The Project

Our customer has an amazing track record of building his projects Green. His log home is made from site harvested, hand-hewn lumber. He has even created 'bogscapes' to process his grey water, and thus helping maintain a natural hydrological cycle by reducing waste and run-off. He has super-insulated the home to keep his house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. His backyard also carries the label of "Stewardship Forest." It was essential that all of our goals fit together on this project so that our customer received exactly what he’d been envisioning: an efficient, aesthetically pleasing way to further reduce his footprint by using solar energy.

The Design

We designed a system that would match his home's aesthetics as well as produce significant solar heat. The mechanical room had limited space so we paired our system with a space- and energy-saving Takagi tankless water, reducing his carbon footprint even further.
