The Project

The Zero Energy Idea House or ZEH is the pinnacle of years of building green for Shirey Contracting. Utilizing advanced energy efficiency construction techniques and renewable energy sources this home will consume a net of zero energy throughout the year. Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs), efficient appliances, and technologies such as a reverse cycle chiller and solar thermal reduce their energy use well below what a typical home would use. The Zero Energy Home then utilizes solar photovoltaic panels and a wind turbine to generate its own power.
